Merchants Benefit Administration, Inc. (MBA) is a Third Party Administrator authorized by the Merchants Industry Fund Group Insurance Trust to, administer, market and distribute products covered under their Trust Agreement. Currently, the Trust Agreement offers a group retiree Medical plan called Seniors Choice. MBA opened its doors in 1997 to handle the daily administration duties for the Trust. Although MBA has been open for 10+ years, the Principals have been involved with the Trust for over two decades.
MBA defines both an administration and a marketing model. The administration model provides traditional TPA services such as customer service, enrollment, premium billing and remittance processing in addition to Agent Services including commission processing. MBA partners with carriers and TPA’s for underwriting and claims administration. The marketing model is based on an independent agent network whose major building block is the General Agent. Additionally, emphasis is placed on special distribution channels such as National Marketing Organizations and consulting companies. At its simplest, MBA creates products that meet current and future marketplace demands and provides marketing support to brand the product and create market awareness within the marketplace and distribution channels. The distribution channels produce the contracts. |
